Welcome to the Snap Circuits Level 7 class where we explore the fascinating world of electrical circuits, diving deep into the relationships between various components. Throughout the course, we'll engage in exciting projects designed to ignite your creativity and passion for electronics. To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, we require students to have either the Snap Circuits SC-750 or an equivalent upgrade, such as the SC-500 with the UC-80 upgrade kit. See the materials section for more details. During the class, we'll cover a wide array of topics, including: Solar Panels: Discover the principles behind solar panels, explore their applications, and take on exciting challenges related to solar energy. Vibration Switches: Learn about vibration switches and how to seamlessly integrate them into regular circuits. You'll also have the opportunity to combine these switches with other components previously studied. Electromagnets: Delve into the concept of electromagnetism and its real-life applications. We'll build circuits that incorporate electromagnets for hands-on learning. Relays: Understand the functioning and significance of relays in electronic circuits. Diodes: Explore the role and applications of diodes in circuitry. SCRs (Silicon-Controlled Rectifiers): Gain insights into SCRs and how they enhance circuit performance. Capacitors: Study the behavior and uses of capacitors in electronic systems. Transistors: Learn about transistors and their crucial role in modern electronics. Variable Resistors: Understand the importance of variable resistors and their practical applications. Amplifiers: Explore the world of amplifiers and their significance in signal processing. Class Schedule: Session 1: Introduction to Solar Panels - Learn the principles and examples of solar panel applications. Engage in exciting solar energy challenges. Session 2: Exploring Electromagnets - Further your knowledge of solar panels and delve into the world of electromagnetism. Discover real-life applications and build circuits to reinforce learning. Session 3: Advanced Electromagnetism - Continue your exploration of electromagnetism and experiment with circuit combinations involving other components. Session 4: Integrating Vibration Switches - Learn about vibration switches and integrate them into standard circuits. Combine previously learned components with newly introduced ones. Session 5: Unleashing the Power of SCRs and Transistors - Dive into the intricacies of SCRs and transistors. Combine solar panels and electromagnets to create more complex and dynamic circuit integrations. Throughout the class, we encourage active participation, hands-on experimentation, and collaborative learning to make your experience both educational and enjoyable. Get ready to unleash your inner innovator as we embark on an exciting journey through the world of circuit devices!

Master's Degree from Univeristy of Alberta
Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma State University
Hi there! My classes are focused on STEM-related courses (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). I want each session to be as interactive as possible with the goal of having students learn through games and activities. I teach classes I am passionate about and I want students to spark their imagination as they will be engineers and scientists of tomorrow.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. I also have a Master’s in Business Administration. For many years, I have been an active mentor in the education sector focused mainly on science and technology. I have taken part in Engineering Kids programs where I show the importance of learning engineering through fun experiments and activities. I have also taken part in different Lego League training sessions and competitions. Additionally, As a father of two, I enjoy teaching my kids about science and the world that surrounds us.
My philosophy is that everyone has the potential to learn with the right tools. Kids and teenagers learn mostly through visual examples and my classes are focused to be as visual as possible.
I hope to see your smiling faces in my next class. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to accommodate.
