⚠️ Needed to participate: Stable Internet Connection, a mobile device/tablet or gaming console, and the free game Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel.


In this club, learners will get together to discuss and play Yu-Gi-Oh! through the official electronic simulator, Master Duel. This free official Yu-Gi-Oh simulator can be downloaded on a mobile device or tablet through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store . It can also be downloaded on consoles, such as PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. It has an official rating of PEGI 7. Once downloaded, learners will be able to create an account and start playing. Learners should have the game downloaded before their first class and familiarize themselves with the platform. 

The instructor will begin the club session with a Yu-Gi-Oh discussion so learners can share their passion for the game of Yu-Gi-Oh! This will be followed by a mini lesson to go over a Yu-Gi-Oh topic/skill. 

Then, the instructor will host a Master Duel Room and create Zoom Breakout Rooms to place learners in so they can test their dueling skills against one another.

Finally, the instructor will close the Zoom Breakout Rooms to have a wrap up discussion on the session.

0-5 Minutes: Welcome & Introduction
Objective: Set the tone for the session, introduce the day’s topic, and check in with students.

5-20 Minutes: Game Mechanics and Strategies Overview
Objective: Teach or reinforce core mechanics.

20-55: Duel Time
Objective: Give students to play Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel to apply what they learned.

55-60 Minutes: Wrap up & Q&A
Objective: Provide a summary and allow students to ask questions.

Learning Goals

Students will be able to explain the basic rules of Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, including phases of a duel, card types (Monsters, Spells, Traps), and the concepts of attack and defense.
Students will learn how to build a balanced deck, choosing appropriate monsters, spells, and traps while understanding deck archetypes and synergies.

Parental Guidance
For students to participate in this club, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel will need to be downloaded. This free official Yu-Gi-Oh simulator can be downloaded on a mobile device or tablet through the app store . It can also be downloaded on any console, such as PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch. It has an official rating of PEGI 7. Once downloaded, student will be able to create an account and start playing. Blooket will be used to review Yu-Gi-Oh topics/skills. Teacher will share his screen to host the different review games. Parents may create an account for their learner in order for them to collect different Blooks (characters), but it is not required.
Pre-Requisites
Learners should be familiar with the basic rules and mechanics of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This can be learned through the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel tutorial.
