In mathematics, simplification is a very important process that helps learners make better sense of any given problem. This one time session will show your learner how to properly simplify and combine like terms in algebraic expressions, the easy way! We will not only learn the entire process, but your learner will recall how they can ask themselves questions each time they are about to combine terms in any expression or equation. This is a great place to start when becoming acclimated with pre-algebra math topics. Throughout my teaching career, my number one observation has been learners inability to show work properly results in the poor grades they may be attaining. This lesson is designed specifically to create a repeatable structure your learner can use every time they go to solve an algebraic equation. I am a certified math teacher who has always enjoyed the integrated classroom. Students of all learning styles and abilities are welcome anytime. Real world problems are always incorporated into the lessons, so students will never question "but when am I going to use this in real life?". Learning is a team effort, and it is always nice to make it more of a conversation rather than a lecture. I always enjoy hearing students at least one time, even if it is for a simple addition problem! Students are informed of this preference at the beginning of class, and you would be surprised how the majority of them rise to the task and feel much more accomplished and happy for doing so! It is something that quickly spreads to the other students as well. My teaching style is engaging and fun, and we discuss topics and work through each problem together instead of simply being lectured. Because most learners are visual ones, I use an interactive whiteboard for learners to be able to see the work for each problem. Reviews from parents for this class: Great teacher, well organized and he made sure to include everyone to make sure they understood the material. My 13 year old enjoyed the class and she is looking forward to more classes with Mr. P. - Ash Mr. P is patient, encouraging and engaging. My son is on the autism spectrum and he is very easily frustrated, so we were unsure how this would go, but he LOVES these classes with Peter. I would 10/10 recommend Mr. P for anyone who is looking for a refresher or full on Math course! Thanks Mr, P! - Deavon
