Class Experience

Students will learn the names of cell organelles and their functions and identify the parts of their model that represent each organelle.
I have a Generalist teacher certification for grades 4-8 from the state of Texas, as well as a science certification for grades 4-8, also from the state of Texas. I spent 5 years teaching science in a public school, and have spent the past 5 years teaching language arts, science, math, history, and geography in a private setting.
I will provide a handout with a list of organelles and their functions. Sugar Cookie Frosting Fruit loops Marshmallows Raisins Mini m&ms Airhead extremes Twizzlers Tic Tacs (green) Sprinkles **Substitutions for similar items that you have available is fine. *** This model can easily be made with playdoh or miscellaneous art supplies, or drawn, if that is the learner's preference.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be using spreading icing with a knife/spoon and adding other food toppings. Parents will need to monitor students according to their child's ability.
