Welcome to our Semester Long Weekly Word work with Ms. B. *If you are interested in this class but unsure if this is the right fit for your learner, please reach out to me. In this semester long class students will have a spelling list each week. We will be Rainbow Writing, Pyramid Writing, ABC order, Silly Sentences, Roll It sentence game and Box Spelling our spelling words. This class will meet for 30 minutes, 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Please make sure to look at schedule as we skip 1 week in observance of holiday. Listed below is what we will be working on each time we meet: *Rainbow Writing is a fun way to add color to our spelling words while writing them. *Pyramid Writing is a way to break down each spelling word into a pyramid to enhance learning of the word and writing. *ABC order is the breakdown of each letter of each spelling word and putting each word in order. *Silly sentences encourages students to have fun and be silly when learning spelling words. *Story time is so much fun when students can be silly and have fun taking those sentences and add them into a story. *Roll It is a game we play in class and can be finished as optional homework. Each week is broken down in the following days: *Sunday a new spelling list consisting of 10 new words will be posted in the Outschool classroom. What ever we do not finish in class is optional homework for the learner. *Monday an introduction of the words will be discussed and as a class students will practice rainbow writing our words while we have a class discussion of how to use each word in a sentence while we rainbow write using markers, crayons OR colored pencils. 1 page handout for Monday. *Tuesday as a class we will be working on pyramid writing as we will also be discussing vowels in each word. 1 Page handout for Tuesday *Wednesday we will be reviewing our words and discuss the order of the words together and arrange them in ABC order. 1 page handout for Wednesday. *Thursday Write your Words using pencil, pen, marker then your choice. * Friday Roll it and Spelling Test. Ms. B will say the word and will use it in a sentence and then will repeat the spelling word for our spelling test. Students are encouraged to their best. Then as a class students will correct their own spelling test that way no one knows how many incorrect words got incorrect. This is for learners to only see and to feel encouraged . At the end of each class we will review our spelling words and discuss what we will be working in the following class. This class is created for students to feel encouraged and to know they can and are spelling rockstars in class. This class is structured for students to have fun while interacting with peers and Ms. B. Lots of encouragement will be happening in this class. My goal is for students to have fun when we meet in class while they are learning new spelling words each week. My teaching style is inclusive of everyone while encouraging learning and fun in class. If this is your second or third class for this class, you will have a brand new word list. I will have them posted in the classroom. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Brienna. Students can call me Ms. B.
When the pandemic started, I knew right away that homeschooling was the journey our family would be taking. I have been homeschooling along with teaching. I began teaching when I was 18! I fell in love with teaching and showing students that they were Rockstars! (Reading Rockstar, Math Rockstar, Social Studies Rock Star). It was very important to me that learners felt that they were awesome and could rock any subject that was taught.
I have two amazing kids!! A Jr. in high school and a middle school learner. Our favorite things to do as a family is to travel and collect board games.
I am a huge advocate for special needs students. My son’s journey with Autism and ADHD taught me so much from learning about different therapies to IEP goals. I create classes so that all children with different abilities can participate and feel valued.
With my ten years’ experience, as a preschool teacher my passion is teaching children through engaging activities, while having fun. Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a private tutor for Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Currently I am working towards my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and becoming a certified Curriculum Specialist. With different classroom setting experiences I had the opportunity to focus on phonics, reading, sensory activities, science experience and history. Getting children excited about learning is what drives me every day.
I cannot wait to teach your children here at Outschool!
