NO LIVE CLASSES - LESSONS WILL BE RECORDED EACH WEEK In this 4 week flex class we will use a series of interactive assessments to build a strong awareness of themselves, find out more about yourself and discover what you're good at and where you may have room for improvement. Identify the things that interest you and get some ideas about careers to explore. Based on what you learn about yourself, you can pursue educational and career goals that bring long-term satisfaction. I will engage students in a classroom discussion question weekly. I will discuss the questions in the classroom. Students are expected to join the discussion by answering the question(s) and replying to, at least (1) person in the classroom, me or another student. Week 1- What kind of Student are you? We will use an interactive assessment to rate themselves on your study habits and in-class behaviors to see where you rank as a student. Students will compile a list of their strengths and weaknesses. Week 2 What’s your Learning Style Through an interactive assessment we will discover your learning style and find out how it influences the way you understand information and solve problems Which Study Habits can you Improve? Start by identifying the strengths and weaknesses in your current study habits. Week 3 How strong is your character? Through an interactive assessment students will select the character traits that best define you and get some tips for building stronger character Week 4 - Self Assessment Portfolio project. Students will present a final overall self assessment portfolio to the class. How will you teach? I will teach using slide presentation, interactive games and discussion for question and answer sessions. What's your teaching style? I believe that every child learns differently. I do my best to accommodate individual learning styles. How much will learners get to interact with you and each other (mention specifics like: lecture, games, slides, video clips, discussion)? I teach with lecture format, visual aids and hands on activity. Students will have the opportunity to interact and discuss with other classmates with a question and answer format. Any required experience or knowledge learners need? No prior knowledge is needed.
