Beginner - Advanced Level
"This class is designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills to write compelling scholarship essays, increasing their chances of securing financial aid for college." Outline the key topics covered: Brainstorming and identifying personal strengths and achievements Understanding different types of scholarship essays and their requirements Developing strong thesis statements and compelling narratives Mastering essay structure, organization, and flow Crafting effective introductions and conclusions Grammar, mechanics, and style for polished writing Proofreading and editing strategies Scholarship research and application tips Then move to the "How" Class Structure: "The class will be a blend of interactive lessons, guided practice, and individual feedback." "Each session will focus on a specific aspect of scholarship essay writing, building upon previously learned skills." "Students will have opportunities to workshop their essays with peers and receive personalized feedback from me." Teaching Methods: "I utilize a variety of engaging teaching methods, including mini-lessons, group discussions, writing exercises, and collaborative activities." "We'll analyze sample essays, engage in brainstorming sessions, and practice different writing techniques." "I will provide individualized feedback on student essays, focusing on both strengths and areas for improvement." Teaching Style: "My teaching style is supportive, encouraging, and student-centered. I create a safe and inclusive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and asking questions." Students should be thinking of college and their future.
Supply List
A one-pager at the beginning of class will be provided. As well as a packet with information for parents during this crazy time of college searching.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
