Class Experience

Becoming a successful adult may seem overwhelming - especially when so many real life skills aren't taught in schools today. This class covers all the life hacks someone really should've taught you, but likely didn't. We'll cover everything from how (and when and why) to sign your name, building a good credit score, common restaurant courtesies, driving etiquette, job application and interview tips, applying to college, financial literacy, basic nutrition, how (and when) to write a check, basic wilderness survival skills, what to do in an emergency, ways to volunteer, basic home maintenance, note-taking and organization tips, how (and who) to tip, the best ways to give a presentation, how to protect yourself online, how to reheat leftover pizza without ruining the crust, how to memorize almost anything, how to make big purchases, how to properly do your own laundry without ruining anything, how to negotiate, and more.

In this weekly real world life skills club for teens, our classroom will be structured like a comfortable conversation. There will be a mix of direct teaching, conversation, and occasional games and activities. Students can expect individual interaction with their peers and teacher during each class, as well as opportunities to practice what they've learned. The classroom environment will be a respectful yet constructive place for students to grow to become an even better version of themselves. Students do not need any prior knowledge of the topics prior to class.
