Animal adaptation will be covered using the following animals: -caterpillar/butterfly memory before and after metamorphosis -bottlenose dolphins using "names" with other dolphins in the wild -sharks using electricity to find their prey -frogs freezing to survive winters -fish with an antifreeze protein in their blood -jellyfish that can revert to a previous form when stressed -sloths that have a special tendon that locks -polar bear insulation -penguin proposal pebbles -glow in the dark squid There will be lecture, along with slides and short teacher made video clips. We will discuss which adaptation is the the amazing and vote on a "winner" of the Adaptation Contest. The word adaptation will be explained at the end of class once learners have a great idea of what it is. No previous knowledge is needed.

Learners will be able to define adaptation, have an excellent understanding of animal survival techniques, and learn about some incredible abilities.Other Details
