In this class, we will look at ten animals and their unbelievable adaptations: sloths, penguins, dolphins, sharks, jellyfish, and more. We will focus not only on the adaptations but how these adaptations ensure the animal's survival.

Animal adaptation will be covered using the following animals: -caterpillar/butterfly memory before and after metamorphosis -bottlenose dolphins using "names" with other dolphins in the wild -sharks using electricity to find their prey -frogs freezing to survive winters -fish with an antifreeze protein in their blood -jellyfish that can revert to a previous form when stressed -sloths that have a special tendon that locks -polar bear insulation -penguin proposal pebbles -glow in the dark...
This class is taught in English.
Learners will be able to define adaptation, have an excellent understanding of animal survival techniques, and learn about some incredible abilities.
B.S. in all subjects education K-8 Minor in life science 25+ years teaching experience
There will be no homework, but students will be given a link sheet to use if desired to explore more about the animals discussed.
A link sheet will be available at the start of class to learn more about animal adaptations.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
