Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Beginner Level
In this ongoing course that meets once a week, children will learn about the real life animals that Pokemon are based on. They will learn about life science as it relates to Pokemon and what living things need to survive within their habit. Children will learn amazing science facts in a fun way that peaks their interests with puzzles, games and open discussions. This is a great class for families that homeschool but also for families that do not homeschool because it is offered at different times to meet the needs of all families.

Some things students will learn in class include strange things like:

Owls don’t have eyeballs, they have a different vision system.

Or the gross fact that Sloths can’t fart

Or even weird colors that insect can see (and humans can’t)
They will become scientists and zoologist themselves as they compare the art of Pokemon to the real animals we discuss throughout the class. Those who want a future in veterinary science will surely love this class. The students will also play fun guessing games based on hints and clues provided during the lesson. This class is perfect for beginners and experts alike. No interest in Pokemon necessary, as the main focus of the class is to meet science standards that are appropriate for homeschooling families and non- homeschooling families, those who just like animals and want to make new friends are welcome.
Weekly ice breakers will be provided at the beginning of class to help children make new friends and build on their social skills. I believe that learning happens when children are happy, having fun and engaged in the lesson.
I also modify my lessons to meet the needs of my students so please send me an email if there's anything that I can do. New Pokemon are added each week along with added Pokemon games and activities. This class combines both science and reading. We read and learn new vocabulary words added each week and we practice our reading by reading the Pokedex entry of each Pokemon. ESL friendly! #academic #fullcourse #vet
