Description
Class Experience
This is a class about bugs! We will watch fun videos, and review names and facts about some amazing, unique and weird bugs! We will do some problem-solving and pretend-play, where we will discuss what types of things we would do as each of the bugs. Students will learn new facts about several bugs, and will share their opinions and thoughts with one another. Some example facts: A butterfly's mouth is called a proboscis ("Pro-Boss-Kiss"). It is tube-shaped, and they suck up their food...
Students will improve their communication and English skills while interacting with others.
I have been a librarian for over a decade, where I worked with students of all ages (college to elementary) on their reading, organization, and grammar skills. I have also been teaching English online since 2018. In this time, I have learned to elicit total physical response while engaging young learners, teaching curriculum based on learning English as a second language. I have worked in both one-on-one and four-on-one virtual settings. I am comfortable with all ages and larger groups of children.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
