I'm so excited about this reading class! Each class will be packed with activities that will help your learner better understand what they read. Each 40 minute class will be structured as follows: 

10 mins Vocabulary Instruction
10 mins Comprehension Skill Mini-Lesson: I will display my screen and teach a short lesson about the comprehension skill of the week. 
10 mins Guided Practice: We will use a short, targeted passage to practice using the comprehension strategy. I will guide the students through this practice.  
10 mins Collaboration/Game: Students will work with a partner to read passages and practice using the skill without my help. If time allows, we'll reinforce the skill using a game!

This ongoing course will cover many reading comprehension skills. We'll start by diving into fiction passages, then move into non-fiction passages later in the year.

May 1: Text Structure Review (+Test Prep)
May 8: Theme Review (+Test Prep)
May 15: Characters/Setting Review (+Test Prep)
