US Grade 3 - 6
In this 30 minute tutoring session, the focus is on improving the student's confidence & skills in math topics they are struggling with. I have two options for the session. 1) Topic Request: Students can request a topic they need additional support in, and I will create a plan for unit plan for bringing the student up to grade level. For example, for a 4th grader who is struggling with fractions, we may work on equivalent fractions one week, comparing fractions the next week, and then adding/subtracting fractions the next. For these types of sessions, you choose the topic, I'll give a short assessment, and we'll go from there! 2) Homework Help: In these types of sessions, students should come to the session with a homework assignment they wish to work on with me. We may work on different topics each week, depending on what the homework assignment is. For both options, we will use a whiteboard feature to work on various math concepts.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their skill in specific math topics by receiving multiple opportunities to practice. Some examples of goals are:
- Students will learn how to multiply 2 digit numbers.
- Students will understand how fractions work on a number line.
