**Students in this class should know all of the 26 letter sounds. However, it's okay if they don't yet know digraphs (th, sh, ch, ck) as we will be working a lot on these together! We will start with CVC words and add in CVCC words each week. I will lead the students in an engaging and fun learning environment! This class is taught in English.
Students will learn a blending strategy that will help them accurately decode unknown words at the CVC, CVCC, and CCVC level. Students will learn how to read & write the different spellings of long vowel sounds. Students will improve their segmenting ability by practicing the manipulation of sounds.
Homework Offered
After each class, I will assign 1 story that students should practice multiple times before the following class. This will help build fluency and confidence, especially in early readers!0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
