Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this ongoing class we will learn to draw a different subject each week ranging from animals, insects, human features, plants, food, etc. We will use the elements of art such as line and shape to sketch out the subject. Details will be added to make the drawing look more realistic using value, color and texture. Depending on the subject, different techniques and tools may be introduced.

After an introduction and greeting we will begin sketching. I will demonstrate and my camera will focus on my drawing while I work. We will go step by step. Questions and comments are encouraged. After initial sketch students will be shown how to incorporate details, shading and finishing touches. Each student is encouraged to personalize their work adding their own creative touches if they choose. Towards the end of the class we will have time for critique and sharing. Our time together is meant to be creative, informative and enjoyable. Engaging in critique is a vital part of the art process!
No previous experience is necessary.

Each class may be taken individually! However this class is a great opportunity to build your sketchbook practicing each week!
