In this class, we will take a close look the real pirates and piracy, and, look at what led to the rise of piracy and cementing their legendary status. Each class will look at one topic related to pirates and piracy. As a flexible schedule class, each week, students will review a prerecorded video and complete activities to see why piracy came about, separate fact from fiction, look at real pirates, and examine the codes and rules that pirates lived by. I am a K-12 Teacher, Historian, Criminologist, and Sociologist, as well as an experienced online teacher. I have studied these topics in depth and am well read on the subjects, and continue to devote time to learning about new developments, theories, and discoveries.
All hand outs will be provided each class. No materials will need to be purchased.
