Class Experience

Letter recognition and understanding letter sounds are building block skills to ensure your learner is ready to read.

Pre-requisite skills: Students should have a basic knowledge of letters and be able to identify them by name.
Supplies Needed: Vowel worksheet, Vowel Printout cards (cut out beforehand), a pencil

Class will begin with an introduction by teacher and each learner.
-What is your name? What is your favourite letter?

Students will:
-be introduced to the vowels - a, e, i, o, u and learn a song to reinforce the letters.
-learn that vowels are present in every word and can make specific sounds.
-learn symbols and actions to remember the short vowel sounds.
-identify vowels in common words as a class and independently.
-play a game to review the short vowel sounds.

Please Note:
During teacher instruction and explanations, all learners will be muted.
When sharing and answering questions, learners will be unmuted.
**Please ensure your learner knows how to unmute themselves.**

**Feel free to message me if there's another class time that would work better for you. I'm always open to adding new class sections!**

Learning Goals
