Reading Comprehension With Miss Davis; 5th Grade and Up
In this ongoing class, students will work with Miss Davis to read, discuss and answer reading comprehension questions while also learning new vocabulary and increasing a love for reading. We meet once a week. Now with weekend classes.

In this class we will be reading a short passage using either a take turns reading strategy or a choral reading strategy. As we read we will discuss the meaning of the passage and identify and decode difficult vocabulary words. The discussion will include examples, pictures, videos and stress free student participation. After we have read the entire text we will answer questions that focus on reading comprehension skills. The current list we will be using is as follows: November 5th to 8th: History of the Ghostbusters Part 2 November 12th to 15th: The Pilgrims Journey November 19th to 22nd: All About Turkeys November 28th: No Class, Happy Thanksgiving November 26th to 29th: Prairie Dogs December to 3rd to 6th: All about Kwanza December 10th to 13th: All About Hanukah December to 17th to 20th: The History of Christmas December 24th and 27th: No Class, Happy Holidays December 31st: No class, Happy New Year! January 2nd and 3rd: New Year Traditions January 7th to 10th: Manta Rays More to be added; Class runs year round I will send the materials to each student before class or whenever you enroll in the class. If you wish, please download the pdf files and have them printed for the class each week. I will also be showing the article with screen share during the lesson.
