Each week, we dive into a new and exciting reading comprehension extract. We will explore the text together, and work through comprehension questions together and independently.

These are aimed at learners in years 5 and 6 (ages 9-11) , but there is flexibility here. The skills practiced will be similar to those found in the Reading SATs papers that learners sit in Year 6 in England. Each session will focus on a new text so that all sessions can stand...
Students will develop their skills and confidence when tasked with comprehension questions. The questions posed will be similar to those found in the SATs that students experience in Year 6 in England. Students will also enjoy reading and discussing a wide range of texts.
I am a qualified and experience primary teacher, and have taught in KS2 since gaining my teaching degree in 2007.
Homework Offered
A comprehension text and questions will be provided for independent practice.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class

Learners will be required to read a text that is about two pages long, so these sessions are best suited for learners who are gaining confidence with this amount of text. Do please message me if you are unsure about suitability.
Print outs and a pen.
Learners will ideally be able to print off the text being studied each week. This would be 1-3 pages of printing. Reading comprehension is more challenging when having to rely solely on the screen.
