In this class, learners will take turns reading passages from Arnold Lobel's classic Frog and Toad stories with a special focus on reading slowly for accuracy and fluency. Class begins with a 5-minute warm-up breathing exercise and a brief introduction to the story of the day. The next 20 minutes are dedicated to reading out loud. Learners will take turns reading passages with coaching and encouragement from the rest of the group. The final 5 minutes are for wrap-up and review. I provide all...
Students will learn tricks for improving inflection and reading comprehension. In the process, they will practice accepting and providing good critical feedback.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Written report available upon request.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will be reading stories from "Frog and Toad Storybook Treasury" by Arnold Lobel.
