Private Reading Tutoring

Individual tutoring to help your child improve reading skills!

During the beginning of this class, fluency and comprehension will be informally assessed.  
Factors of fluency or comprehension will be instructed and practiced based on the student's strengths and needs.
Supporiting comprehension will focus on understanding of the text and recall of information. 
Oral reading will focus on fluency to improve accuracy, speed, and expression. 

All texts will be shared on my screen, so you do not need to purchase a book to begin.

Week 1 - Learner interests, informal assessment, main ideas
Week 2 - Formal reading assessment (QRI or LLI) with results sent to parent
Week 3 - Fluency focus - pacing, accuracy, expression
Week 4 - Comprehension check - recall of events and understanding of text read
