Private Flute Lessons - 60 Minutes
Students will learn or expand their ability to play the flute. This class is designed to be adapted to an individual student's needs and goals. Whether they are a beginner or an advanced flutist, students will be amazed at their progress.
Class experience
According to a student's individual needs and goals, students will learn: Flute technique - Basic to Advanced Tone production - from basic sound production to advanced color, nuance, intonation, and control Repertoire - solos, duets, school music, audition music, concertos Music theory: note and rhythm reading for beginners, through AP Music theory content according to a student's goals.
Bachelor's degree: Flute Performance Master's degree: Flute Performance Teaching credential: Music 32 years teaching private flute lessons. Professional flutist - solo and orchestral Adjudicator and clinician for high schools, ABRSM, NYSSMA, SDFG, MENC, MTAC and more.
Homework Offered
Students are expected to practice on a daily basis. The more advanced the player, the more practice time that is needed to maintain and achieve goals. Each student has a different goal, so these suggested practice times are flexible and will vary according to a student's goals and availability. Beginners: 20-30 minutes daily - at least 5 days a week. Intermediate: 45-60 minutes daily - at least 5 days a week. Advanced: 60-120 minutes daily - at least 5 days a week.Assessments Offered
Students and parents can request in-class assessments. Many students opt for this as they prepare for exams or auditions.Grades Offered
Students should be ready for class with: Flute Music stand Appropriate chair or room to stand Hand outs will be sent in PDF format Books will be needed during the class, however, each student will be given a recommendation as to what to purchase and links will be sent to parents.
