Do you struggle with test preparation? Get lost in your science or research project? Waste time or procrastinate? Have no idea how to organize your notes, research, and time? Learn how to be a better student with Private 1:1 Tutoring and Coaching with a Professional Tutor. Learn effective study skills during private, 1-on-1 tutoring. We will work together to improve your study skills including time management, note taking, organization, research and test preparation. Gain crucial skills you will use throughout your school and college years. In order to maximize our tutoring time, please answer the following questions at least 48 hours prior to your tutoring session. - Grade - Purpose of the session (time management, study skills, note taking, etc.) - Specific needs including topic if known (i.e. upcoming test, difficulty keeping up, research paper, etc.) - Learning details - Please provide any details about your student (Learning styles, strengths, etc.) Please submit the information above at least 48 hours prior to your tutoring session so a detailed plan can be made to optimize your tutoring time. Notes: Our first session will be a "Get-to-Know-You" session. I will use this time to get to know your student, their needs, and especially their interests. I will use this information going forward to tailor future tutoring sessions to your student. Study skills cannot be developed in one, half-hour session. Basic skills take a minimum 4 sessions to cover.

Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Minors: Biology, Chemistry, and Writing
Annette the Teacher has been teaching for years. She has over three decades of experience teaching children of all ages. She has a B.A. in Sociology with minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Writing from the University of Pittsburgh. She has homeschooled her own children from Pre-School through (their current) High School. All of her classes are interactive. Annette encourages students to fully participate in class. All of her classes feature hands-on activities and books Annette writes for the class herself.
Annette is a published writer, publisher, and artist. She uses her extensive knowledge and experience to create unique classes for every student. She enjoys teaching science, history, art, and cooking classes. She brings history alive with her "Life in ..." history classes where students learn about key times in history by experiencing children and families' lives in that time period. "Paint like ..." art classes where students will learn about famous artists and create their own artwork based on the artists' works. "Smart Science" classes where we explore science and complete experiments and projects. Kid Cuisine classes are cooking classes for Young Chefs based on historic foods and science topics. Students should be prepared to make, explore, and create during class. Annette knows hands-on, interactive experiences are the best way for children to learn.
Annette also has experience working with Special Needs children. She is Mom to a child on the autism spectrum and a child with serious medical needs. She also has worked with children with ADHD. If your child has special needs, please contact Annette so she can work with you and your child.
