Class Experience
Mathematicians in Principles of Practical Pre-Calculus will be taught in a teacher-led classroom with room for students to explore the big ideas of Pre-Calculus and practice the guiding principles. Skills will include nonlinear motion and nonlinear functions, circular motion and functions that describe it, ellipses and hyperbolas, exponential and logarithmic functions, matrices and geometric transformations, trigonometric functions and other Pre-Calculus topics. Students will be able to work with a variety of Algebraic and Trigonometric functions. Students will be able to work with conic sections. Students will be introduced to combinatorics and Calculus concepts.
Handouts will be provided.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
