Are you gearing up for the next level of mathematics and want to ensure you have a solid foundation to build upon? Look no further! This course is specifically tailored to prepare you for the challenges and excitement of PreCalculus by revisiting essential Algebra 2 topics in a supportive and engaging environment. Throughout this 5-week class, you'll embark on a journey to master fundamental algebraic principles such as polynomial functions, rational expressions, exponential and logarithmic functions, and trigonometric functions. Through a combination of interactive lectures and problem-solving exercises, you'll gain confidence in manipulating equations, interpreting graphs, and applying algebraic techniques. With the smaller class size student will receive personalized attention and support, ensuring that everybody has the opportunity to excel. Whether you're looking to shore up your skills before diving into PreCalculus or simply want to deepen your understanding of algebraic concepts, this course is designed to meet your needs. Together, we'll build a strong mathematical foundation that will serve you well in your academic journey and beyond. Homework and answer keys will be offered as a form of self-assessment where students can choose to practice the skills outside of class. Each class will begin with a warmup review to assess prior knowledge. Then, students will be guided through an interactive lesson of the topic before being given time to independently practice and ask questions. Students are encouraged to focus on solving problems along with the instructor and to use the recording and lesson slides to take notes outside of class.
Learning Goals
Students will review Algebra 2 concepts important to success in Pre-Calculus. These concepts include factoring, solving equations, graphing and more. A detailed breakdown of learning goals each week can be found in the syllabus.
