Class Experience As a private tutor since 1995 I learned that students want a math teacher who is friendly, non-judgmental and is interested in their success in math. Students want concise and simple explanations. I have developed my own method of teaching this skill. I have successfully taught this skill to hundreds of students . Once you learn it you will never forget it. After watching Khan Academy and You tube videos on this topic I have seen nothing like the method I teach. This skill is essential in order to learn Pre-Calculus properly. I provide quality instruction to your child, you will be glad you chose me as his/her math teacher. I will show students how to do an exercise on the white board. They will learn by actually doing example exercises during class. I will repeat with another exercise and will explain as many times as needed until the students are ready to do the exercises by themselves. Once started, I will check their answers for accuracy and follow up with any necessary explanations. I encourage all participants to try as many exercises as possible. I follow up the class with an upload of homework with the solutions. Course breakdown: Note: Instructor reserves to change or modify content. Week 1: Verifying Trigonometric Identities. Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from University of Houston
Hello parents:
I teach Arithmetic, Pre-Algebra , Algebra I, Algebra II, College Algebra ,Geometry, Analytic Trigonometry , Trigonometry,Pre-Calculus, Business Calculus, Calculus and High School and College Statistics.
I have a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering. I also have an Educator Certificate from the Dade County Public School System.
I worked as an Engineer for HNU Systems ,an environmental company based in Boston . Part of my job duties was to train personnel in industrial, academic and corporate settings.
In 1995 I started tutoring people from all walks of life in the area of Mathematics.
One of my very first tutoring clients was a college professor who needed to pass the GRE exam in order to obtain her PhD.
After a few sessions she told me "You are a natural teacher". This comment reinforced the fact that teaching for me is not just a job but a "calling".
I believe anyone can learn the language of Mathematics . My teaching style is eclectic but effective.
I have taught many students who were convinced they could never learn Math.
I have also taught many college students whose "professors" could not teach.
I take special delight in proving to students that many people with advanced degrees have no idea how to teach.( This is prevalent in many universities)
My students usually tell me that I make it look easy; and they usually ace the class.
I am married to a wonderful woman and we have a college daughter who was home-schooled and now attending a local university
on a full scholarship.
