Class Experience

US Grade 9 - 12
Customized one on one math tutoring for high school students in Algebra 1 or 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Calculus, or who are preparing for the SATs.

I work mostly with high school students in classes ranging from pre-algebra to AP Calculus.

I work with students one on one to help them better understand their math courses, work through questions on homework, study for quizzes and tests, and make sure they stay one track!

For best results, when working on a specific assignment, parents or students can send the assignment to me ahead of time or have the student share their screen during the lesson to work through the assignment.

I use a document camera to demonstrate to the students how to work through problems and to prompt them to help with the next steps.

For example, if we are working on factoring. I will demonstrate how to work through a problem and give tips and tricks/things to look for. Then together the student and I will work through additional problems. Me writing it out on my document camera, while the student helps with the steps and writes out the problem on their own notes.

If working through an online assignment on a platform such on IXL, I have the student share their screen to show the specific question. If the question is too complicated to just walk through verbally. I will share my screen so we can work through the problem together and visually see all the steps.

When working on graphing problems, I often share my screen displaying my document camera or depending on the problem will demonstrate how to graph using a graphing calculator or a website such as Desmos.

If we are studying for an exam and don’t have a specific review, we can go over old assignments or I can find/make up problems based on the topics for the exam.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! I am Ms. Row! I have been a math teacher since 2016 and have been a math tutor for even longer. I have taught SAT Prep, Intro to High School Math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Statistics. I have tutored anything from elementary and middle school math to high school placement test prep up through Calculus.

I graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Secondary Education and Mathematics.

I genuinely want to help students understand complex mathematical concepts clearly. Math shouldn't seem intimidating or scary!
