In this introductory course, these scholars will learn how to solve equations that contain unknown variables. Students will be given step by step explanations of the process to solve for a variable. They will learn how to solve equations mentally by using the multiplication table and how to identify a solution to an equation with given numbers as well as by using inverse operations. After grasping main concepts, students will then have the opportunity to exercise learned concepts through...
Students will be able to write out a full equation with the suggested variable representing the unknown, then solving the equation. They will be able to identify which underlying operation to utilize in any given circumstance. Operations may include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers.
I have been a math substitute teacher for 9+ years. Teaching all math subjects from grades K-12, I have gained the skills to work with diverse students. I have worked on creating effective teaching curriculums/lessons for students and also aiding students with gaps in their math skills so they can catch up to the current lessons. Although math can be challenging at times, I have attempted to teach it in a way that students can look at math with a positive approach and understand all while having fun!
