Class experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Beginner Level
This class will teach the letter names and sounds to a student unfamiliar with or struggling with certain letter names or sounds. This class can also reinforce the letter names and the letter sounds to a student who already knows the alphabet and phonics sounds.
Homework Offered
Assessments Offered
Each week the student will be assessed to see if the student is comprehending the sounds of each of the letters. The teacher will make a phonics sound and have the students use their modeling clay to create the letter that makes the sound. If the teacher notices that a student is having difficulty remembering the letter sounds then the teacher will request a private lesson with the student to help the student understand better the letter sounds--(this request will only be made to the parent not the student)
Grades Offered
A grade will only be given of P for Pass, which means they have accomplished the sounds of all of the letters. Teacher Dayna wants success for all students, even if this requires one on one help outside of the regular class.
1. Student will need to have modeling clay or play dough of any color available for each class
2. Page protectors to put the alphabet pages in so that they are not damaged-parents will prepare pages the teacher sends by putting them in page protectors.
3. Alphabet page provided by the teacher. The Teacher will supply a packet of information each week to be printed off so the student can use as a mat during class to make play dough letters.
**Parents please be aware that "play-doh may contain wheat, which could cause an allergic reaction if ingested in those sensitive to wheat gluten or with Celiac disease. Any type of play dough can be used, even homemade as long as it is malleable.
