This is an on-going class that meets three times a week to work on reading readiness with hands-on multisensory Orton-Gillinham instruction.

If you would like me to open a different time for this course, please let me know. In the summer I'm very flexible. Students will work on reading short vowel CVC words and FRY's 1st list of High Frequency words. The teacher will be using the Orton-Gillingham method and the recipe for reading sequence. Students enrolling in this course should be able to identify their letters and their sounds. We will work on blending those sounds to make words. We will begin with combining the letters...
Students will blend sounds in order to read and spell CVC words. Students will read FRY sight words.
I have been a certified teacher in Kentucky for 15 years. I have taught in the Elementary classroom setting and in the Special Education setting. I have attended Orton-Gillingham trainings and received certification to work with this program. I also have two children who struggle with dyslexia along with 20% of the population of learners. I would love to help your child learn to read with this program.
