Beginner Level
Class Overview: This engaging class focuses on mastering the order of operations, a crucial skill for success in math. Learners will explore how to correctly simplify mathematical expressions using the "GEMDAS" method (Grouping Symbols, Exponents & Radicals, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction). What We’ll Cover: Review of basic operations and their various forms in mathematical expressions. Introduction to "GEMDAS" and its role in simplifying expressions. Step-by-step application of the order of operations through guided practice. Class Structure: Our sessions will follow a proven three-step approach: I Do – The teacher demonstrates solving an expression while learners observe. We Do – Learners and the teacher solve problems together, fostering collaboration and understanding. You Do – Learners work on problems independently to build confidence, with opportunities to ask questions for clarification. Interactive Learning Experience: Students will engage through an instruction with clear and concise slides. Hands-on practice problems and interactive discussions. An Exit Ticket at the end of class to check for understanding and ensure mastery of the day’s lesson. Teaching Style: My teaching approach is supportive, interactive, and adaptive to each learner’s needs. I believe in breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and encouraging active participation to build both skills and confidence. Student Interaction: Students will have ample opportunities to ask questions, participate in guided practice, and share insights during discussions. My goal is to create a collaborative and enjoyable learning environment where every student feels empowered to succeed.
