Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
It is very important to me as an experienced vocal coach and opera singer that every student is successful in achieving the daily objectives as well as enjoying learning about music. It is with this mission in mind that students will continue to gain a realistic sense of confidence with their knowledge of opera singing and Bel canto vocal technique. At the end of class, we will have a review where students will be able to describe what type of opera Hansel and Gretel is. They will be able to identify who the composer and librettist are from Hansel and Gretel. Students will have coloring pages of the main characters from Hansel and Gretel and will be able to describe who they are and what their voice type is as well as a synopsis of Hansel and Gretel. They will know the opera takes place in Germany and will reinforce this knowledge with a coloring sheet as well as learning cultural and musical knowledge about the country. They will be able to recognize multiple famous musical pieces including the Brother, Come and Dance with Me chorus as well as sing an excerpt from the Brother Come and Dance with Me chorus. Students will also have learned a fun and energetic vocal warmup.
An optional 10 to 15 minute review crossword puzzle is available for download after class.
Worksheets will be used in class to aid with learning. Learner Supply List: -Pencil -Class Worksheets (provided for print) -Crayons -Colored Pencils -Optional* Folder for worksheets
