Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
Students will learn about different sea animals. The classes will include small video clips with fun facts. I've taken these video clips at our local aquarium. I've found that short clips help to keep the children focused. We will also focus on Ocean Animals books from both National Geographic and Discovery. I will read to the class, and we will discuss what we've learned. I will provide photos of the pages that we are reading, so that the student can follow along.

Can't read? No problem. I'll be reading, and the students will follow along.

We will learn about sharks, dolphins, whales, jellyfish, stingrays octopuses, and more! We will also touch on ocean zones.

DAY 1 - INTRO TO SEA LIFE
How big is the sea?
What are ocean zones?
What types of animals live in the sea?

DAY 2- SHARKS and RAYS
We will get to know more about sharks and rays. Shark eggs are really cool!

DAY 3- DOLPHINS, WHALES, OCTOPUSES
We will get to know more about dolphins, whales, and octopuses. Octopuses have 3 hearts!

DAY 4- JELLYFISH AND OTHER AWESOME SEA CREATURES
We will get to know more about jellyfish, cool looking sea creatures, and more!
Moon jellyfish have 5 stomachs!

(This is my Ocean Animals Class. During summer camp, we complete 4 days in 1 week instead of 4 weeks.)

Teacher expertise and credentials
I visit the aquarium with my family, every week. It's one of our favorite things to do. I loved teaching the Seas unit to my elementary students in our public schools because I love sea animals. They are so interesting.
