Note: This club is due to begin running in early 2025. *** USE THE CODE ACADEMYDIVE6 FOR $6 OFF YOUR FIRST DIVE DEEPER CLASS *** This club was designed as a follow up for our Ocean Explorers club, taking a deeper dive into some previous topics as well as learning about all new parts of marine biology. There is so much more to learn about our oceans. Some weeks we explore new habitats such as seagrass meadows and sandy shores, others we will learn about how marine animals are adapted to hunt, hide, and communicate. We even look at how we as humans interact with the ocean, how we explore and learn more about it and how we protect the animals that call it home. Each lesson is full of videos, photos and animations of incredible animals and habitats to help our learners feel engaged and inspired. Although there is lots of information shared in the classes, this is all done in a fun and interactive way, with lots of opportunity to ask and answer questions. All our educators are trained marine biologists with experience working out in the field, meaning they are full of stories and knowledge to pass on to the learners. The aim of our classes is to learn – but we always make sure to have fun too. Although this is a follow-on club, each lesson is stand alone and can be taken in any order. You can join at any time to complete all the topics as we work through the cycle, at the end of the 24 topics we start all over again! We provide an optional worksheet to go alongside each lesson. This can be filled in during the class (although we will not talk through the answers as part of the lesson) or after the class using everything that has been taught. These can be collated to make a booklet at the end using the coversheet and index sheet provided on sign up. Here are the 24 topics covered. The dates are to be confirmed. At the start of each week our educators will let you know which is coming up in the classroom! 1. Oceans Most Dangerous 2. Abyssal Zone Habitats 3. How Humans Help 4. Ocean Adaptations 5. All About Oceans 6. Glow in the Dark Animals 7. Reef Mega and Mini Life 8. Senses in the Sea 9. Silly and Surprising Species 10. Ocean Exploration 11. Marine Mums and Dads 12. Living Fossils 13.
