Class Experience

Our High School Marine Biology Online class is an in-depth program created to engage and educate high schoolers about marine life. Through interactive lectures, activities, and projects, we will delve into the complexity of marine ecosystems.

Key Course Highlights:

1-Advanced Marine Concepts: We will dive into complex marine biology concepts, exploring the intricacies of marine ecosystems, marine conservation, and the latest scientific research.

2-Cutting-Edge Research: We expose students to the latest research and developments in marine biology, ensuring they stay up-to-date with current trends and breakthroughs in the field.

3-Environmental Challenges: Our course addresses pressing environmental challenges, from climate change and coral bleaching to marine pollution and habitat destruction. Your teenager will learn about these critical issues and engage in discussions about potential solutions.

4- Virtual Expeditions: High schoolers will embark on virtual marine expeditions to diverse ecosystems around the globe, encountering exotic marine species, and witnessing the wonders of the underwater world through multimedia-rich experiences.

In this class, we present the content through explicit instruction using engaging Power Points. The lessons are rather interactive. We maintain learners engaged by encouraging their comments and questions as well as inserting brief discussions to spark motivation and understanding.

Meet the team

Sara M. Gonzalez
I am the founder and director of WeConnect. I am a native speaker and a certified Spanish teacher with a Ph.D in Spanish Literature. I have been teaching Spanish language, culture and literature for more than 10 years and would not change the joy of helping learners become proficient in the language. It is also very important to me that they enjoy the experience and consequently, much effort is put into making lessons didactic, varied, and memorable.
My pedagogy is based on research and classes are conducted in Spanish 80 to 90 % of the time with a progressive increment. My experience allows my to encourage mistakes as a normal part of the learning process as well as effectively correcting and guiding interactions. In my approach to language learning, I present grammar and vocabulary in integration with real life contexts and the Spanish culture, actively involving the students at every step.
I am also a Biologist (bachelors) and have taught Social Studies in bilingual contexts. I have served as a middle school and high school teacher from multiple capacities and have taught a variety of subjects that go from Science to the full spectrum of Spanish language courses.
More importantly, I grow and become a better teacher from every interaction with my students.
