Nature Art: Invitation to Create

In this invitation to create class, learners are invited to create a unique art project using items collected from nature and recycled materials. Learners can choose their own supplies that inspire them to create, please see supply list for ideas. 

Prior to class, learners are asked to spend time outside to safely and respectfully collect nature items (twigs, leaves, flower petals, moss, seeds, acorns, small stones, etc) and recycled materials in their home (cardboard, clean bottles, paper, etc). During class time we will create are own art projects with our individual materials, learners have complete creative freedom. They can use their materials to create a structure, a flat picture display, paint large rocks, braid flower stems - so many possibilities! If learners are struggling with ideas to create, there are templates provided on the welcome message that learners can glue/tape their items on directly to create a nature image. 

While working on our projects, teacher will encourage conversation with prompts about being outside and recycling. Learners are also invited to ask questions to the group to encourage social interaction. 

Please note: There is a chance that learners may not finish their project during the scheduled time. Learners are welcome and encouraged to continue their project after class, and to upload a photo of their project to the classroom when completed. 
All learners will get the opportunity to share their progress during class time and talk about their project!
