Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 5
Beginner Level
One whole semester of art--done for you!
This course is ideal for 3rd-7th graders.

Because we dive deep into the traditional elements of art…
1. Line

7. Form
and mix them with 7 discovery-based plant science topics:
1. Types of plants
2. Parts of a Plant
3. Shapes of Leaves
4. Parts of a Flower
5. Photosynthesis (my favorite!)
6. Plant Life Cycle

In this self-paced class, your learner will learn all about plants through art. Using easy-to-access materials, learners create drawings and projects that reflect the plant-topic of the week.

{Changing the schedule}
Does this schedule not align with your homeschool? No worries! Save the links you receive each week and spread them out over a whole year of school.

This class is $12 a week for two 10-15 minute lessons, 2 drawings/projects, and group feedback from the teacher. I offer sibling discounts (50% each additional learner, so please ask!).

{How it works}
In this class, you get 2 video art lessons per week. That totals to 42 ART VIDEO LESSONS!
I've set up this course to be done within a semester (starting August 21st). However, there is SO much content in here that it could easily be spread out into a full elementary school year.

{Feedback from me}
I want to know all of my students! That's why I've linked an Outschool group to this FLEX class for free. Inside the Welcome email, you'll be receiving a promo code for a spot on my Nature Art Group. That will allow you to talk to me, ask questions, and get feedback. It is also a safe, fun place for your learners to interact with other kids and share their art!

{Extra info}
-Five and six year-olds are allowed to take this class. However, if your learner does not have a strong drawing hand yet, I would encourage you to be ready to assist or to pair them with an older sibling.
-Optional: You can place all the finished drawings and projects into a 3-ring binder (I did!). They're all vertical so it works nicely. This also creates a great resource for future reference.
Learning Goals
My goals for learners are...
1. to learn about plants from a kinesthetic, right-brained perspective.
2. to grow confidence in sketching through learning elements of art.
3. to have fun!
