Class Experience

In this class students will have the opportunity to perform the songs they have been learning in private lessons. This applies to vocal, piano, guitar and ukulele lessons. Students will be paired with students their age and level. After performing, students will receive feedback on how to improve their performance as well as positive reinforcement. Students will get a chance to tell each other what they liked about each others performances. 
Below are some of the topics that will be discussed in class. 

1. Breath Support
2. Pitch
3. Diction and Articulation 
4. Mouth and Tongue Placement
5. Chest, Mixed and Head Voice
6. Singing Style according to the song
7. Tonal Painting
8. Acting / Emotion
9. Body Posture   
10. Positive Feedback from other students

Learning Goals

Students will learn ways to improve their song. Students will be able to receive positive feedback from the Teacher as well as classmates.

Supply List

A youtube track or accompaniment is required as well as an additional device to play it on. You may often find tracks for free on youtube by typing in the name of the song followed by "karaoke version."

Hi there! My name is Shelbbie. I am a Twin mom, Musician and Teacher. 

My professional background includes two Bachelor Degrees and over 10 years of performance and teaching experience. My main degree is a music degree with an emphasis in voice and vocal studies. I am an instructor at Tupelo Music Acadamy in addition to owning a studio of my own. 

I offer a variety of classes on Outschool  including Voice, Ukulele, Guitar, Piano, Musical Theatre, Acting, Music Theory, Art and more.

I have a laid back personality and I am often a bit goofy in my classes. I love to connect with each student and believe laughter is the best medicine especially in a learning environment! I adjust my lessons around each student depending on their individual needs. Feel free to leave feed back for a past class!
