Memorizing States and Capitals (Flex Schedule)

This class is a FLEX SCHEDULE class and will not meet meet live. In this class, students will learn all 50 states, their locations, capitals and some facts about each state! Each class time, we will work on five states and their capitals. Students will learn memorization techniques, songs, games, chants, etc to help them commit these states to memory in a fun way! There is no background knowledge needed for this class as this class is a beginner level class. After each class students will take their blank map that will be sent to them and they will color code the states that they learned for that class session. Students will practice using the map and techniques to work on those five states that were presented in class. The students learning progress will be evaluated by questioning and discussion in class. 
Students will be assigned a discussion question each week that students will answer and interact with other students in the classroom discussion. 

How the FLEX SCHEDULE will work:
1. There will be two lessons uploaded a week. Each lesson will contain five states and capitals to memorize.
2. I will post the songs to the classroom and also will introduce them during the lesson time. I will also introduce other memorization techniques. I will upload games to the classroom that students may print out and play with their family for more practice. 
3. There will be review questions in the powerpoint for students to go over to review the previously studied states. Each class session I will post a discussion question to the classroom wall for students to participate in. The discussion question may be what was their favorite state and why? What did they find most interesting about the states discussed?
