Description
Class Experience
Students will learn and successfully solve problems using negative exponents for powers of ten, scientific notation, rational numbers, square roots, and absolute value of rational numbers. Students will also communicate and reason mathematically and become problem solvers and critical thinkers.
As a parent and state certified teacher, I am very passionate about education. Helping others overcome challenges and finding an appreciation for math is my primary goal! I know that learners all have different needs which is why differentiating instruction is so important. Your child will gain confidence while mastering math!
Students will receive and be responsible for watching prerecorded videos, reviewing handouts, and completing activities and assignments weekly for each skill taught in this course.
Students will receive notes and practice sheets to assist in learning independently.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
A learner's progress will be assessed through classroom discussion and performance on activities and assignments.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
Nearpod, Quizizz, Kahoot, Prodigy, Arcademics, Sway, and Youtube are some of the websites used in this class.
