Homework
1 hour per week. Learners will be assigned one reading a week outside of class. They may access the Learning A-Z Raz Plus reading room for more practice if they wish.Class Experience
US Grade 1 - 4
I provide one-on-one reading coaching. This personalized class is perfect for beginner readers, struggling readers, or those who want to increase their reading speed or comprehension. I utilize the Learning A-Z Raz Plus readers which includes 29 reading levels of fiction as well as nonfiction. We will begin with a placement test to determine your learner's reading level. We will have class together once a week and I will assign reading outside of our live class time. During our live class time, your learner will read with me from slides on-screen. Each book we cover will have a comprehension quiz. While your learner is enrolled in my class, they will have access to the Raz-Plus online reading room which they may access through their student login anytime throughout the week for practice and assignments. Learners will increase their phonological awareness as well as reading comprehension.

Hello! I am excited to meet you! I am an enthusiastic teacher and believe learning should be fun. Learning is enhanced for a child when it is presented in a context made relative to their interests.
I graduated from Washington State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences. I have taught children for over 15 years. My background includes teaching EFL online to learners aged 4-16 as well as teaching preschool.
I live near Seattle, Washington with my husband and two children. We also have a Siberian Husky, two tuxedo cats, two ferrets, a leopard gecko and a crested gecko. Outside of teaching, I love cooking, volunteering at my children's school and traveling with my family. I look forward to fun and creativity with your child in my classroom!Reviews
