In this on-going class, we will learn about Marine Biology: Exploring Ocean Animals. What are the Ocean's most diverse vertebrates? What are the interactions amongst species? What are some of the most fascinating invertebrates on the ocean? Which are some of the most interesting animal adaptations? How do animals behave and why? What does marine conservation do to protect our oceans and planet? Find the answers to these questions and many more in " Marine Biology: Exploring Ocean Animals". Each week we will discuss and learn about two species. The animals will include a variety of invertebrates, mammals, fish, reptiles, and seabirds. Some examples of the animals we will discuss in the twelve week loop include: 1) Killer whales 2) Pelicans 3) Electric Eels 4) Hammerhead Sharks 5) Sea Stars 6) Saltwater crocodiles There are currently twelve classes of two creatures each before the sessions repeat. The dates for the next schedule are: Week of December 21st – Week of March 27th My classes offer a unique opportunity to participate asking or answering questions and discussing different topics that we will see in each class. Participation is optional and students can use the chat too. I will share my own presentations, videos, photos and my own experience as a marine biologist and scuba dive instructor. My classes are designed to encourage student engagement and follow their curiosity. There are no prerequisites for this class. Animals by Week: Week of December 21st-26th - Cuttlefish and Orcas Week of December 27th-January 2nd - Pelicans and Emperor Penguins Week of January 3rd-9th - Manta Rays and Marine Iguanas Week of January 10th-16th - Octopuses and Walruses Week of January 17th-23th- Blue tang and Blue Whales Week of January 24th- 30th- Tiger Sharks and Sea Starts Week of January 31st- February 6th - Sea Otters and Elephant Seals Week of February 7th-13th - Leatherback Sea Turtles and Electric Rays Week of February 14th-20th - Bottlenose Dolphins and Hammerhead Sharks Week of February 21st-27th - Manatees and Saltwater Crocodiles Week of February 28th-March 6th - Whale Sharks and Frigate Birds Week of March 7th-13th - Spinner Dolphins and Nudibranchs Week of March 14th-20th- Humpback Whales and Christmas Tree Worms Week of March 21st-27th- Sperm Whales and Leopard Seals

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a marine biologist and I have a Master's in Marine Sciences. I am a Scuba Diving Instructor and I have seen most of the creatures I will be sharing my knowledge and passion of with the students. I operate a non-profit that promotes marine conservation and education based in Costa Rica.
