We are going to learn about one of the oldest creatures on the ocean: Coral Reefs. In this one-time class, students will learn the basics of these animals including how they hunt, what they eat, how they glow at night and some interesting facts. We will learn about bioluminescent unique ocean creatures. Some creatures that will be mentioned at some point in this class include: 1) Coral Reefs 2) Plancton 3) Bioluminescent Creatures My classes offer a unique opportunity to participate asking or answering questions and discussing different topics that we will see in each class. Participation is optional and students can use the chat too. My classes are designed to encourage student engagement and follow their curiosity. There are no prerequisites for this class. Students are allowed to use pencils, markers, crayons, and color pencils. Students should use a blank piece of paper or a journal. The last activity of the class we will create our own unique coral reef using what we learned and our imagination and we will share it with the group.
Learning Goals
We will learn about coral reefs and bioluminescence as well as adaptations to their environment.We will use our creativity with the components learned in the class.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a marine biologist and I have a Master's in Marine Sciences. I am a Scuba Diving Instructor and I have seen most of the creatures I will be sharing my knowledge and passion of with the students. I have a non-profit that promotes marine conservation and education based in Costa Rica.
