Class Experience

US Grade 6 - 9
Beginner - Intermediate Level
In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of acting for film, focusing on key on-camera techniques, character development, and emotional expression. Topics covered include the difference between stage and film acting, using body language and facial expressions on camera, creating believable characters, and practicing scene work with a focus on collaboration and adapting to camera angles.

The class is structured into four weekly sessions, each offering a mix of direct instruction, hands-on exercises, and group activities. Each week, students will have opportunities to practice skills and receive feedback, culminating in a final performance to apply what they’ve learned.

My teaching style is interactive and hands-on, encouraging students to experiment, receive real-time feedback, and collaborate in a supportive environment. I aim to create a space where students feel comfortable taking risks and refining their craft through active participation.

Students will have plenty of opportunities for one-on-one interactions with me as they work through exercises and receive personalized guidance during scene work. Group discussions will also be held to reinforce learning, answer questions, and provide additional direction.

Learning Goals

By the end of this course, students will understand the key differences between stage and film acting and how to adjust their performances for the camera.
All students will develop a basic understanding of acting terms used on set.
