🔬 🔭 📡 This is an exciting Science Self Paced Class that will cover the Introduction to Life Sciences, Origin of Earth, Animal Intelligence, Intro Quantum Physics, and STEM. A great way to supplement your child's science journey and/or other live classes they may be taking. Week 1Lesson 1🔬Week 1 Intro. to Biology (Life Science)This class explains the 4 pillars of biology, evolution, genetics, homeostasis. There are sometimes more pillars but these are the common ones. We will also touch briefly on metabolism, cell theory, the 5 kingdoms of living things, and bacteria. A welcome video by avatar Dr. Einstein is included. Estimated learning time is approximately 30-45 minutes which includes viewing the video, completing the worksheets and the gamified activity.Week 2Lesson 2🌎Week 2: The Origin of EarthThe Origin of Earth is explained starting with the "explosion" of Earth's origin not to be confused with the "Big Bang Theory" although the Big Bang Theory explains more of how the universe came to exist. The approximate time when Earth had its first life form. The timeline of when humans and dinosaurs first existed on Earth. What we can do to protect our wonderful planet Earth by discussing conservation briefly. Video, study sheet, nearpod quiz rounds out a great class.Week 3Lesson 3🐈Week 3: Animal IntelligenceThis class video explains how animal intelligence is compiled by using our own intelligence as a yardstick for measuring the intelligence of animals. Areas covered are the intelligence of animals starting from the least to the most intelligent in comparison to humans. The discussion of some of the unique behaviors of some of these animals and how brain size isn't the only determining factor of intelligence. This segment ends with what we can learn from animals behaviors. Worksheets/game includedLesson 4🎁BONUS VIDEO! - "Peculiar Beavers"Learn how interesting this animal is. Dr. Ruth learned so much making this video and wanted to share it with her students. Did you know that beavers are super intelligent and have peculiar living spaces?! Video Length: 4 minutes (no study sheet or quiz)Week 4Lesson 5🔎Week 4: Quantum Physics - Brief OverviewBrief Overview on Quantum Physics. What exactly is it and how does it apply to our world? In this video, you will learn what quantum physics is and how it differs from the standard model of physics. The student will learn the basics of quantum mechanics and learn about Schrodinger's cat. This class will help budding scientists to learn to think the "quantum" way. Worksheets and game quiz included.Week 5Lesson 6💻Week 5: STEM Let's finish by learning about STEM!This last class will also touch on how anyone of any age can benefit from learning about science, technology, engineering, and math by taking a few classes or independent research in these areas and keeping our minds creative and up-to-date about these things even if we do not get a degree in a STEM major. STEM jobs will be discussed. Video, study guide, and a fun nearpod quiz rounds up this great ending class of the series.
Students will improve their understanding of these science topics: Biology, Life Science, Earth's origin, STEM, Quantum, and Animal intelligence presented in an introductory methodology with easy-to-grasp short videos, self-study sheets, corresponding fun to-do quizzes, and Dr. Ruth's entertaining AI generated avatar assistants along with our famous large human like puppet "Cowboy Joe".
Teacher Ruth, has a PhD (Doctor of Philosophy in Metaphysical Sciences), MSc.M (Master's in Metaphysical Sciences, MSc.B (Bachelor of Metaphysical Humanistic Sciences). Her undergraduate coursework at the University of Central Florida encompassed general sciences, biology, earth sciences, anatomy and physiology, research, and advanced statistics.
Homework Offered
There will be links sent to read a study sheet with the answers for each student to then complete a 10-question self-grading quiz link that I will also send each student after each lesson and no need to send back to the instructor as it will automatically be sent to Dr. Ruth when the learner completes each quiz which are easy and fun to do. Open book quizzes and answer sheets are provided.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
There will be an external site used for quizzes called nearpod and baamboozel and the links will be sent to each learner to complete each individual quiz. I follow the concept of Montessori in that these "quizzes" have no grades and are self-grading. By enrolling in this class the parent gives consent in having their child access the link activities which have a unique code that Dr. Ruth created. These are self-grading and no need to be sent back to the instructor as it will automatically be sent to Dr. Ruth when the learner completes each quiz which are 10-12 questions each and easy to do. There will also be a study sheet with the answers that will help to reinforce the material that matches the quizzes above.Grades Offered
This class is intentionally made to support those students that need these science topics explained in an easy to understand and entertaining format. I have had students with special needs enroll in my class such as ASD, ADHD

Nearpod - fun quiz related to the science topic, no account is necessary and a password will be posted in the classroom along with the link.. Baamboozel - fun quiz related to the science topic, no account is necessary and a password will be posted in the classroom along with the link.

The bamboozle link has a special code and the material was created by Dr. Ruth. By enrolling in this class the parent gives consent to having their child access the activity links.
