In this one time course, your child will learn the letter names and sounds of the vowel letters. We will practice matching these letter sounds to words and pictures. We will practice saying the letter names and sounds.

I will use a PowerPoint presentation to teach the material. I include pictures and interactive activities to develop the concept. I use direct teaching as well as student participation. My presentation includes direct instruction to present the content as well as fun activities to engage the students. Students will participate by listening and repeating, as well as identifying the correct pictures to match the letters throughout the lesson. In this way, I will gauge their understanding and help develop it more.

I have taught in elementary school for 15 years and I am certified in Pre-K through 5th grade. I am very experienced and am prepared to help your child improve their reading skills!

Hello! I am so glad that you are interested in my classes! I strive to make learning fun and engaging for each student. I enjoy getting to know my students and help them grow academically.

My Background:
I have been a public school teacher at a Title I school for 15 years. My experience ranges from K-5th grade, and I have taught every academic subject: Math, Reading, ELA, Social Studies, and Science. I have worked as a homeroom teacher as well as an ESOL teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Toccoa Falls College (2005 graduate) as well as a Master of Education Degree from North Georgia College & State University (2010 graduate). My Georgia teaching license is current. I have professional training in leadership, ESL Endorsement, reading and math support, and more!

I believe every child can succeed if given the right tools and positive encouragement. I have 15 years of experience working with a variety of learners from those who struggle and need a lot of patient guidance to those who excel and need a challenge! I see each learner as a precious gift and seek to provide the right support based on each child's needs. I also have homeschool experience so I can approach learning from your homeschool child's personal needs! It is a joy and blessing for me to teach!
