US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this private tutoring session, we will focus on a math skill that your child needs to improve. We can begin by either discussing beforehand the skill you would like to focus on or I can do a small assessment at the beginning of the first class to determine which operation, fluency, or other math concept your child could benefit from the most. Once a skill or skills have been determined, we can work on the needed skill weekly till it is mastered and then move to the next skill. I have taught in elementary school for 15 years and I am certified in Pre-K through 5th grade. I am very experienced and am prepared to help your child improve their math skills! We can work with addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division. We can develop fact fluency. We can improve word problem comprehension and confidence. I can also focus on another area of concern if you have something else specific. I will adapt the lesson to your child’s learning needs as we go along. I look forward to helping your child develop a love for math!! *If you do not see a time listed that works for your child, please look at my availability so we can find a time that does work!

My Background:
I have been a public school teacher at a Title I school for 15 years. My experience ranges from K-5th grade, and I have taught every academic subject: Math, Reading, ELA, Social Studies, and Science. I have worked as a homeroom teacher as well as an ESOL teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education from Toccoa Falls College (2005 graduate) as well as a Master of Education Degree from North Georgia College & State University (2010 graduate). My Georgia teaching license is current. I have professional training in leadership, ESL Endorsement, reading and math support, and more!
I believe every child can succeed if given the right tools and positive encouragement. I have 15 years of experience working with a variety of learners from those who struggle and need a lot of patient guidance to those who excel and need a challenge! I see each learner as a precious gift and seek to provide the right support based on each child's needs. I also have homeschool experience so I can approach learning from your homeschool child's personal needs! It is a joy and blessing for me to teach!
