Class Experience

Annyeonghasaeyo! (Hello!) Have you ever wanted to dance like your favorite K-Pop idols? How about we start with world famous BTS’ song, Butter (chorus only).
For this class, dance experience/good co-ordination is ideal for some moves, but it's a great challenge for beginners - not to worry! I'll be sure to break everything down as easy as possible!

Class plan:
First things first, we’ll quickly go over class rules and get to know each other a little…but let’s not get too distracted, we have a dance to learn!
Before we begin, we’ll start up with a quick BTS warm up and then watch the choreography together to familiarize ourselves with the dance. (If you happen to also watch the choreography ahead of class, it’s best to watch the mirrored version!)
When teaching, I will break the chorus into 8’s and slowly explain the moves in sections. After walking through each section, we’ll do it with music, starting with around 60% speed and we’ll gradually increase it. Remember, practice makes perfect, so prepare to be repeating the same thing a lot! Essentially, that’s how the class goes, alongside taking some quick breaks and question opportunities in between.
At the end we will do some quick cool down stretches and ending discussion. This class primarily focuses on learning the moves but may need additional practice after class to fully grasp the entire dance.

The real goal of this class is to have fun! If you don’t grasp something immediately, don’t give up! It takes time and practice.

Learning Goals

Students will learn how to co-ordinate dance movements and how to express themselves through dance.

Parental Guidance
Due to this being a movement class, please ensure your child has an open space to dance in (6ft x 6ft) and ensure there are no objects nearby for potential collisions. Students must wear appropriate attire and footwear for dancing. Please also have water available to drink as needed throughout the class. The class will feature a 3-4 minute stretching/low intensity warm up and stretching cool down, however additional stretching prior/after the class is also encouraged based on the individual's personal needs. Although unlikely, injuries may occur if students do not have enough open space, adequate stretching, or parental supervision during class. In addition, since this class is performance based, it is preferable that students have their cameras on to evaluate progress.
