In this ongoing class, students will be introduced to different themed vocabulary such as colors or numbers. Each week we will practice correct pronunciation and use pictures, interactive games or songs to help us learn Spanish. Week of July 17- El Alfabeto - Students will learn the pronunciation of the 30-letter Spanish alphabet, use rhythm and syllables to learn the Alphabet song in Spanish and learn a few easy words such as "familia" and "leon". Week of July 24 - Los Numeros - Students will learn the pronunciation of numbers 0-20, see the spelling of numbers 0-10 and do a matching activity to reinforce what they are learning. Week of July 31 - Los Colores - Students will learn the pronunciation of colors, learn a song that will help them remember the colors in Spanish and learn how to say their favorite color in Spanish. Week of August 7- En La Granja - Students will learn the names of farm animals, we'll hear the sounds some animals make and use them to practice our new vocabulary. Sound from Pixabay.com Week of August 14- Mi Cuerpo - Students will learn the name of the different parts of our body and learn a song that will help them remember the names. Week of August 21 - Mi Familia - Students will learn the names of different family members and we will learn to say the sentence "My sister's name is ____." for the different family members. Week of August 28 - Los Días de la Semana - Students will learn the days of the week, learn a song to help remember the days and learn phrases with the words ‘hoy’, ‘mañana’, and ‘ayer’. Week of September 4 -Los Meses del Año -Students will learn the months of the year, learn a song to help them remember the months and we will share our birthday month. Sound effects from Pixabay.com
Learning Goals
Students will learn the correct Spanish pronunciation for different themes such as the days of the week, months of the year, numbers, colors, the alphabet, parts of our body, and zoo animals.

My husband and I are both retired and we take care of my 93 year old mother. I am very grateful that I am able to take care of my mom and still continue to connect and work with students. I love working with kids, seeing them learn and apply their knowledge is truly rewarding.
