Class Experience

Students will learn how to draw a variety of shapes & styles of fishing lures. While we draw them, your child will also learn about the most common parts of a fishing lure as well as many optional parts, too. In the final step of adding color, students will learn how to make wise color choices for different sections of the lures and some blending tips.
No homework will be assigned; however, your child may need a few minutes after our class to complete the coloring step of our drawing, and may be excited to continue practicing fishing lure drawings independently for fun.
pencil, eraser, sharpener
at least 1 piece of drawing paper or a sketchbook or even a sheet of copier paper will work
crayons or colored pencils (or even the twistable style of either of those)

Optional supplies: silver or gold colored pencils or silver or gold & white gel pens (for the metal parts of the lures)

Optional prop or reference for your child: a fishing lure in a box or package with a clear side to see the lure without the child touching it. We want every child to be safe and not get cut by touching any hooks on a lure during this class. If you believe it is safer for your child not to have a lure on his desk during our class, please do not allow him or her to have one.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be no formal assessment; however, we will take the time to hold up our drawings and celebrate and encourage each other during and at the end of class. I'll watch for opportunities to offer extra drawing tips as needed throughout the lesson.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
